PECERA-HK Distinguished Educator Award
The Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association (Hong Kong) has established the Distinguished Educator Award to honour local educators who have made outstanding contributions to early childhood education. The award is assessed by a Selection Committee comprising influential leaders from the education and public administration sectors.
The Selection Committee evaluates nominations based on the following three core criteria:
- Influence and achievements in education policy and systems
- Innovation, leadership, and professional practice
- Forward-looking and sustainable research and academic contributions
The inaugural Distinguished Educator Award was presented at the Association's 20th Anniversary Celebration cum 2025-2026 Annual Conference.
Members of the Selection Committee include Dr. Elsie Leung Oi-sie, former Secretary for Justice; Mrs. Helen Yu Lai Ching-ping, former Director of Education; and Mrs. Patricia Chu Yeung Pak-yu, former Deputy Director of Social Welfare.
The recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Educator Award is Dr. Chan Po-king.
