PECERA Hong Kong 2023-2024 Annual Meeting cum Seminar Highlights

The PECERA Hong Kong 2023-2024 Annual Meeting cum Seminar was successfully held on 12th January 2024. The event featured an Executive Council appointment ceremony, with our Founding President, Dr Betty Chan, officially appointing our President, Dr Maria Lee, and her team of 13 ExCo Members. Additionally, appreciation certificates were presented to our 15 Strategic Partners, expressing gratitude for their invaluable support.

President Dr. Maria Lee’s report highlighted the PECERA’s unwavering commitment to the community, including regular public seminars/webinars, participation in various large-scale research and community engagement projects (e.g. the Children’s Residential Home (CRH) Revamp Project, KeySteps@JC Project, Bright Start Project, IQ Preschool Project), contribution to the Committee on Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Bill, provision of ITERS & ECERS coaching and assessment services to Kindergartens, and sharing our work at PECERA International Annual Conferences.

We were delighted to have Dr. Carly Ng and Dr. Evian Tong, recipients of the Young Scholar Awards at the 22nd and 23rd PECERA International Annual Conferences respectively, share their award-winning research projects related to children’s play and language, inspiring and challenging us to rethink our pedagogical practices.
