The PECERA Hong Kong 2024-2025 Annual Meeting and Young Scholars Conference, held on January 11, 2025, was a remarkable gathering that brought together over 200 participants from Hong Kong, South Korea, China and beyond. This vibrant event served as a platform for early childhood education (ECE) scholars and educators to connect and exchange ideas.
The day began with inspiring speeches from our President, Dr. Maria Lee, alongside notable guests, including Ms. Michelle Li, JP, Permanent Secretary for Education, and Ms. Winnie Ying, Head of Charities (Youth Development & Poverty Alleviation; and Talent & Sector Development) at The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Ms. Li also presented certificates to awarded preschools for their achievements in the Quality Accreditation and Professional Coaching (QAPC) Scheme.
The Young Scholars Conference featured around 70 presenters who shared innovative research through engaging paper and poster sessions. Participants received valuable feedback from session chairs, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that encouraged deeper exploration of ideas.
Concurrent seminars and workshops led by 15 esteemed speakers enriched the experience, providing attendees with fresh insights and strategies to enhance their work with young children. Also, a Professional Learning Community (PLC) Sharing Session was also conducted.
This event not only celebrated academic excellence but also ignited a shared commitment to advancing early childhood education, paving the way for a brighter future for our communities.
Next week, we will be sharing the presentation materials from our invited speakers and a collection of event photos.
