The Hong Kong Chapter of Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association (PECERA) and the Department of Child Education and Community Services, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education jointly organized the seminar on Arts Education: “Where is the work in dramatic play?” on May 6, 2011.
Mrs. Julie Orchard, Arts Education Manager of Windmill Theatre, Australia, shared with the audience her insights on arts education and dramatic play in early childhood education. She has worked widely in arts education for over 20 years, predominantly in drama education and teaching all ages including tutoring in the tertiary sector.
Moreover, PECERA (Hong Kong) called for support for the relief work of the Japan 311 Earthquake and Tsunami at the seminar. Thanks to all donors and HKD10,000 was raised to help the orphans in Japan for their education and emotional needs. PECERA (Hong Kong) brought the donation (converted to JPY102,000 as at July 26, 2011) to ASHINAGA via PECERA (Japan) during the PECERA 12th Annual Conference in Kobe from July 30 to August 2, 2011. A receipt was issued by PECERA (Japan) for the donation from Hong Kong.
